About Us

Sedrow Fire Engineering

Sedrow Fire Engineering was born from a desire to focus on quality over quantity.  After many years working in fire engineering, our directors know that long-term gains are made through focusing on the people they work with, both clients and colleagues, and through allowing time to deliver technical excellence in their work.  Building client relationships is more important to us than short-term profit on a project.   With this approach, we are able to provide the responsiveness and technical standards that our clients deserve.

Building Regulations

The Grenfell Tower tragedy in 2017 marked a turning point in fire safety across the UK. It exposed serious flaws in building design and regulatory oversight, leading to sweeping reforms in the Building Regulations and fire safety legislation. From the introduction of the Building Safety Act to stricter guidance under Approved Document B and the British Standards, the landscape has changed dramatically.

Support from Start to Finish

At Sedrow, we help clients navigate these complex changes with confidence. Whether you're planning new developments, refurbishing existing buildings, or addressing legacy compliance issues, our fire engineers provide clear, practical guidance aligned with the latest regulations. Our advice is tailored to meet new legal duties placed on dutyholders, Accountable Persons, and Principal Designers.

Higher Risk Buildings (HRBs)

Sedrow work across all sectors, including higher risk buildings (HRBs). The fire safety design of HRBs comes under close and detailed scrutiny by the approving authorities, and experience across the industry demonstrates that the approvals process can be a challenge. It is vital that each of the Gateway stages is handled competently and that the technical issues are understood and addressed. Sedrow are perfectly placed to help.
